I would think you could go to the nearest Social Security office and request a duplicate

Contact your nearest Social Security Administration office.  You can get a replacement card there.  If you call them first, they will tell you what form(s) of identification you will need to bring to verify who you are.

The whole process takes just a few minutes, and then they send you a new card through the mail.

It is the same thing people do when they change their name.  Pretty common and easily taken care of.

if you lost it in public , im not sure what you should do , but if you lost it somewhere around the house or something then you should just go to the local social security office and apply for a new one . it should take about 7-10 days to get a new one .

save a trip and request a replacement online..i think its socialsecurity.org

go to the ss office and report that u lost it or u can go onto there web site as well but when u go into the office be prepared to wait a while they seem to stay busy and have ur Id with u as well, u will take a number from the officer that is on duty there and then when they call ur number the rep will ask u a few questions and u have to fill out some paperwork to obtain a new one as well.
