I lost my volume from my computer, can someone help?

Okay I just restored my computer and everything is great. Except... I have no sound at all, can someone tell me what to do. I run a windows XP

if ur using external speakers, make sure they're securely plugged into the back of the computer.  also, make sure that you didn't accidentally mute your sound system, which can be unmuted by hitting the sound button on the bottomright hand corner next to the time.  it looks like a small megaphone with waves coming out of it.

You might need to download a new sound card?? i needed one for my computer not sure actually

start, control panel, and the volume/speaker picture should be there.  click on it, adjust ur volume.

have you tried clicking on the speaker on the toolbar  next to your time double click and turn up the volume and see if the help if not i sorry that is all i know. good luck
