I lost sound from my computer yesterday, and I've tried a few things to get it back?

Now what are some things i can do to get it back,if I can? I use the XP operating system

try.

bottom right hand where time and date are in tool bar.

there should be a speaker icon~right click on it and check it is not muted or volume turned right down.

if you use external speakers check the connections.

This has happened to me before but after I restart the computer, the sound comes back on.  You should check to see if its maybe the sound card going out.

I had this same problem with my computer.  My sound or internet wouldn't work.  Sometimes your computer comes with  a resource CD.  for example, mine had a 'dell resource CD'.  all i did was put it on and extract the sound file.  You could check to see if any of those CD's are available for your computer

This has happened to me before, but it's usually something stupid... like having your headphones plugged in.

Besides that, have you tried rebooting? If that doesn't work, you could have a problem with your speakers, and you should get it looked at.
