  1. Sometimes when going to safe mode you still need a password and cannot get into windows

get " Hirens Boot CD " burn to CD and boot from it

It has password canceler programs on it in one section.

Plus a lot of other useful programs

  2. Either log in as Admin and change your password (via safe mode, F8 on startup) or use http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ to get your password back

  3. If you mean to get into your account just reboot your computer and start in safe mode. Then log in as administrator and remove the pass on your old account. If you had a BIOS password I suggest you try to remember because getting it removed requires you to short out your motherboard and is even risky for professionals to do.

  4. If it's a BIOS password then there are several ways to do it, on older Toshibas there is a "key" that you put in the parallel port to unlock it, or you can remove the BIOS battery (with the main battery and the mains out) then short out the pins for a few seconds (sometimes you have to strip down the base of the laptop to get to it, maybe half to an hours work if you know what you're doing).  If it has been written to a fixed memory, you're stuffed and need to contact Toshiba with proof that it's yours.

If it's an XP / Vista user account password then you can either log in as Admin using safe mode (F8), or, as happens sometimes) you've removed/disabled the Admin account or forgotten ITS password as well then you need to clear the user account password file (ther are a number of programs that do this, I know which ones I prefer, others may have different choices)

If you're still stuck let me know.
