I lost the receipt for my now broken Zune, can I still replace it with the warranty?

I bought a 30gb Zune on black Friday at Best Buy and since then my Zune has broken but is still in warranty. I have misplaced my receipt as it got accidentally thrown out by a family member. Microsoft has sent me a box to send my Zune in for repair but I find that I don't have a receipt to prove I bought it. Is there I way I can still some way I can repair my Zune using the warranty?

  1. Best Buy can look up your receipt for you and print you another one. Depending on what's wrong with it, you might be able to get it taken care of at Best Buy using the Zune warranty, since it covers it for 1 year, and BBY has some control with that. Next time though, in case it happens again, either buy the extended warranty through BBY (it's really worth it!!) or make sure you register it with Microsoft right after you buy it!
