I lost the title to my car how do i get a new one?

i lost the title to my car and now i need it to trade the car in today becuase i bought a truck how do i get a new one today or can the dealorship take the car without the title the car is paid off and its a year 07? thanx...

Go to DMV.  File for a lost / replacement title.

That depends on your state law.  But most states will MAIL it to you so that they can check that the car is not stolen and it is sent to the proper address (the real owner).

You probably cannot change the time when you get the title.  But you probably can change the date that you pickup the truck.

Go to the DMV and apply for a lost title. It will only cost you money. Of course ID that you are the owner will be needed.

You need to get a new title at the DMV.  You cannot and the dealer will not accept the car as a trade in without a (clear) title.  If your state has a walk in DMV satellite office, you should be able to get a replacement immediately
