I love Roger Federer so much. I can't believe he lost to Rafa. I was on the edge of my seat the entire match

my blood pressure was going through the roof, my pulse was spiking, I was so into it, that match gave me more grey hairs. I am so bummed that Federer lost. Who else feels the same way? I have been a tennis fan my whole life, I'm 35 and have been playing/watching tennis for 30 years. Federer is my all-time favorite player. I feel so bad for him that Rafa is just such a brute and a bull, and just doesn't make any mistakes at all, and is putting Roger's game to the test and beating him. I mean, is this the end of Roger Federer? Will he break Pete Sampras' record of 14 grand slam titles? He has 12. Will he win the US Open this year? Will he ever win the French? Will he win Wimbledon next year? So many questions. I was literally so depressed after the match, I wanted to kill myself.

  1. Hey I love Federer too, and really watching him today only made me love and respect the guy even more. Rogie wouldn't let it go without a fight and you have to give him full credit for pushing Nadal to his absolute limits, he just came up short, Rafa just had more than Fed. The match is over, and now we have to look forwrad to the Olympics and the US Open and start rooting for him all over again. If your a true fan, don't keep questioning what he will do, just watch him and cheer for him. Even if he doesn't win a slam this year, I'd still be his devoted fan. He'll try again next year and again and again until he retires. I believe Federer is just in a slump because he was sick at the beginning of the year and he pushed himself too much. But give him time this could be a bad year and next year could be the greatest year of his career. Just be patient, Federer is still going far in the grandslams so it's not like he's playing horrible, he's playing consistent, it's just not quite enough to win everything like before. Fed is still here and on fire, he's not done until we see on tv that he's announcing his retirement and I firmly believe we'll have Fed around for quite a while.

  2. Mmm, same. My friend  and I sent about 200 texts each in that match and stayed up all night to watch it. When the second set was finished we had decided to turn emo lol... and I honestly seriously know what you mean by 'I was literally so depressed after the match, I wanted to kill myself'.

I was so upset that a couple of unforced errors and bad luck forced him to lose his 6th Wimbledon title. I was still happy to see him come back from 2-0 though and was literally going crazy after the fourth set.

I cant believe he lost his service game, I think Federer would have almost definately won it otherwise. I am 15 and only been watching tennis for about a year. I hate myself for not following it earlier, I'm so scared I will only get to see the very end of his career.

I have followed Federer from the first second I saw him play. After the first couple of matches we saw of him in the Australian Open my friend and I had organised to see him play in Melbourne next year.

He is such a positive role model and I look up to him heaps. The end of Roger Federer isn't here yet. I have never actually watched him win a grand slam and I am not giving up on him now.

It's so nice to hear another Federer fan talk about him again, and that someone else felt the same way after the match. Thanks for posting =]

    Go Roger!!!

  3. Me too! Omg! I had the same feelings! I love Roger sooo much! And no, this is not the end of him! No way! He's still able to kick butt and that's what he'll keep on doing in the future. About the match:

I'm really suprised that Rafa played so wall on grass. He was awesome, I have to admit, and he deserved to win. But Federer was awesome too! Who else has the ability to stay so calm and cool in a situation where he has to save a championship point! The man is amazing! I admire him soo mush cuz of that. Also, he had 25 aces! The thing that sux is that he had 12 break points he hadn't used!!! Still, they were both sooo amazing, it was a honor for me to even watch them play like that! I'll never forget this match!

    And now to your questions:

Yes he will. I think he will win US Open this year, and I hope Djokovic doesn't make any problems, although I'm from Serbia, lol, I don't really care about him that much. He'll win Wimbledon next year, no way he's gonna let Rafa beet him again after what happened yesterday, mark my words. He'll win Rolan Garos too.

I know how u feel...I was sad too, and I still am. I fell of my seat...While they were playin' the 4th set tie break I wanted to DIE! And when it that tie break was over I needed 15 minutes to calm down. I was shaking, I couldn't even drink anything...

But, Roger Federer is still my #1 and I luv him sooo much! I agree with one answerer above, he might be having a bad year, wich of course doesn't mean he's at the end of his career! He's born to be a tennis player, anybody who saw him play can agree. His era is long before over, tust me. Just keep chearing for him, cuz he has absolutely no intention of giving up. He's still young, he has time to breah tons of records...Just don't write him of. And feel honored to be able to watch him play.

He's gonna keep kicking *** and we will still be able to enjoy his matches!

  4. yeah,I just had the same feelings as u.I just felt my heart in my mouth during the match.I cried alot when he lost.because u know he played well but he wasn't just so lucky as nadal and he made mistakes at crucial moments.

be optimistic.in my opinion the answer 2 all of ur questions except 'is this the end of Rofer Federer?' is YES HE CAN.he is still  young.he is the best tennis player that history has ever seen.

it is not the end of the world 4 him he should just look forward and tries his best.

    I love him so much.

right now I am so depressed like u but no matter he lost we still love him,Don't we?

  5. I m still sad that he lost! I still feel that there should b a time machine for reversing all this!!

I too cried a lot last night but we must not lose hope. Roger is too young and i dont think its his era's end. He has definitely a lot more to achieve, an olympic gold and a Roland G for example.

  6. Please dont be depressed and certainly DO NOT kill yourself. Just sit back and appreciate what a great match these two great champions gave the tennis fans. That is something to celebrate. This match is by far one of the best matches in tennis history. I feel lucky and priviledged to have watched it.

  7. I'm just 16,I was even more 'into the match'.Believe me I've never been so much depressed or felt sympathy for someone before! I really wanted Roger to break the record of six wimbledon titles! He was one point away1I think that's the closest anyone will ever come!

I guess I will never see that happen as long as I'm alive!

I hate nadal for this!He could have won next year! He's only 22........

Yup,even felt the same way, to kill myself...I know what you mean.....it's good we share a passion his game ...and for him...

At least he should be happy that he has such great and passionate fan's and who love him so much(me included)!

And I think his desire to win the french open and to destroy nadal will have increased 100 times as much....I think now he'll focus even more!

And the ONLY reason I hate nadal, is because he wins his matches with brute strength alone....look at roger....so much talent.......

You know what  did?I slept after that exhausting match and just had breakfast....so I'm not as depressed...don't worry you'll get over it.....

But remember....thanks to the not so great "Mr Nadal'

you'll never see another person win 6 six wimbledon's in a row!

But remember, federer WILL win next year!He doesn't have to worry about any record!

  8. i was always thinking federer can lose at grass

  9. As soon as i heard he lost (i only managed to watch the first set) i thought could be the end of Federer. He always loses to Rafa now even at the tournament he's best in. Theres no way of knowing who will win which tournament, sadly. Maybe after losing that match he will start to train more.

Hopefully he will win the next tournament and beat Rafa.
