I'm gonna go to high school next year and i was wondering what i could do for 40hrs of my community service to do with animals and children.

You can always volunteer at the zoo, but this totally depends on your age and their limitations. Many places have an age limit of 14 or 16, so you should call them (or look on their website) to find out.

Also, there are many SPCA branches and other animal shelters in Toronto. Look online and call or email to various shelters to see what their age limit is.

One more - try various animal hospitals / vet offices. I'm volunteering at a veterinary office and most big ones do take volunteers. I walk the dogs, unpack and shelve food and other supplies, clean the animal pens, play ("socialize") with the animals, etc.
