  1. If you  want to race I agree you should get a two stroke but be warned they are trying to fase them out. Honda's newer 4 strokes are starting to be just as fast and powerful as the 2 strokes. BUT I would say get a 125. They are still small and light and FAST. If you want to do some trail riding then get a 4 stroke 125. Not as fast but its got some power. Dont get anything bigger then that or you mite kill yourself lol or you at least mite not be able to reach tech ground. But I would suggest a 125 IF YOU ARE SERIOUS. If not get like a 90 or something. As for your parents, you need to explain to them how it is a growing competitive family sport that everyone could enjoy and that you will save your money and buy all the protective gear to keep you safe. But in the end, no matter how right you are, its up to your parents... OR you can do what I did and buy one behind their backs lol and yeah, worked for me.

  2. well buddy looking to ride a dirk bike. start out with a 2 stroke its nice and easy, inless you just what to start off riding the 450 like me. its not the amount of acers you need, it's the amount of track you have. if you live near the woods use the trails there or make your own. but start off really easy of eat dirt like i did. get use to how the bike moves up and down on the trail, dont start jumping yet. really get use to how the bike fills around turns, when you think your ready the start speeding up and jumping, small jumps at first the get larger. when you master you own trails then go to a track and just ride, it's really different from trails. start off slow, get a feel for the track then GUN IT. never be scard of getting hurt, thats what holds most riders back form doing out radious jumps, tricks, and flips.

  3. it depends on how big you are on the size of your bike.if your 13.235lbs.and 6ft like me.then you might wanna get something like a cr125(just to start out on and learn what your doing).or maybe start out on like a crf150f just to start then sell it after you kno what your doing somewhat.but the cr125 worked reli good for me as a starter bike. but if your smaller like most of my friends id say between a rm85L-125.and maybe a 105ktm or kx100..but to convince your parents.just get good grades.maybe work and help pay for the bike, and just dont tick em off lol.i would also tell them.i can start riding now and you wont give up.also tell them you want to ride on tracks and stuff eventually.but if you get a quad you will end up having to be riding a quad which are kinda annoying cus they wipe out burms and ruts but can be good cus they fix muddy spots.but quads roll they dont just flop over.sure you may wreck more if your on a dirtbike but chances are your not gonna get gonna more than a couple of bumps and bruises.where as if you get a quad and roll it the quad isnt gonna be in tip top shape lol.and your probably gonna get hurt a lot worse too

  4. i'm 17 and it took me until i was 14 to convince my parents, i mean my dad even had one growing up. what i did first was get a go-cart then i talked them into letting me selling it then i used that money for a down payment for my bike. i have a 150cc 4-stroke trail bike, it's awesome, not the best for jumps or anything but it rides good. to convince your parents just talk to them and maybe even get your dad or mom to try one out and maybe when they realize how much fun it is then they'll get you one. and depending on your size i'd get from a 100-150cc bike. goodluck and i hope your parents get ya one.

  5. Ha, im 13.. and i had to convince my parents over a course of years.. well actually i think it was just about the time he wanted me to. Get good grades and show its what you really wanna do. To race its probably really expensive. you got to show them that you will wear all the protective gear. Also make sure you have a place to ride first because it seriously sucks c**p if you have a bike and you always wanna ride it but you cant. I have a crf-150f. Its a trail bike but if you want to race you could always get a racing 4 stroke (crf-150r for example) or you could get a cr85.. so.. you just gotta bug them for a while.. maybe say thats all i want for my birthday or somthing. Good luck!!!

  6. If you wanna race you need a 2 stroke 85, If you just want to trail ride get ya a four stroke between 100 and 200cc, they're safer than fourwheelers, show your parents some good grades and offer to do chores for money to help pay for upkeep and gas
