I love fishing loads and loads

Question

i love to do it but my parents won't let me buy any rods or ANYTHING they think its cruel should buy a rod without telling them and hide it or just do it anyway or try and talk it out ??

Hey you know what? That's your right to want to fish. I got love for anyone who loves the sport. If your parents wont let you fish then really you should talk to them. Maybe try to get them out to do it too or at the least watch you do it. I have known quite a few people to not like something to this degree but when introduced, they like it. There is no reason what so ever that your parents should stop you from doing something you like to do. Its not like your out drinking and having s*x, right?? Just because they maybe anti hunting and fishing doesn't mean you have to be. Its your right! Get into the game!!

Talk to your parents and explain the way you feel about fishing and ask them to explain why they think it is so cruel. Be open minded and listen. Don't try and hide anything. You should be able to talk to your parents about everything. Good luck.

Try and talk it out, you will make the situation worse if you go and buy a fishing rod, fishing is not cruel, mention that you will be fishing only catch and release with barbless hooks, tell the that you will not be removing the fish from the water and instead be quickly playing the fish to the side and releasing it. Maybe joining an angling club and that may persuade them to let you fish, there are lots of angling clubs out there that practice conservation of fish stocks and local rivers and water ways. Fishing is a great way to learn patience, self control, sportsmanship and have general respect for your surroundings and nature, its also a great way to meet new people and talk about fishing!

Fishing is no more cruel than buying beef that has been slottered &

butchered. Fishing is good, it helps to relax you, take your mind off of your problems & get some fresh air. But to fish just for trophies or sport

then it can be called cruel.
