  1. I am still wondering if us 'sheepoeple' can convince you 'tobacco doesn't cause cancer' people that it's real before global warming (climate change, god's wrath or what ever you choose to call it) becomes a human extinction event. If you look at all the data and listen to all the scientist, we are already in a mass extinction event.... we have been losing 5,000 species a year for a 'few' years now.

EDIT: WOW, I knew yahoo was a haven for right wing extremists but I didn't know where most of them posted (with the exception of R & S) until I found this forum today.

  2. I don't know what you think it is a scam.  Climate change is happening. So many countries were worried about it some twenty years ago that they set up the International Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) to ask the question why.  All governments in the world were invited to nominate scientists and many were nominated - including a large number from the US.  They have pooled their knowledge and produced to date four reports which cite hundreds of scientific papers.  Their conclusion is that it is highly likely that AGW is responsible.

Before you dismiss it all out of hand spare a thought for the numerous communities around the world who used to be able to feed themselves but now can't.

  3. It is quite interesting how EVERYTHING in the way of weather is due to AGW.....

    Too hot? = AGW

    Too cold?? = AGW

    Too wet? = AGW

    Too dry? = AGW

    Too many hurricanes? = AGW

    Too few hurricanes = AGW

The AGW 'Mutual Admiration Society' is getting desperate!  What a joke!!!  Thankfully, they are losing members!!

  4. It seems they are confused as to what they really believing in.  Global Warming and Climate Change are two different issues.  Related but different.  They think they are the same.  They also discount any information that doesn't come from one of their blogs.  When offered as factual site, they belittle it, but offer no other facts in response.  Thus the dilemma with any meaningful debate.

  5. I agree with the poster who said this is where all the extreme right wingers hang out.  This isn't a discussion about global warming.  It's mostly a bunch of right wing people who believe nothing that Rush Limbaugh doesn't OK first.  If you look at who the top rated people are and what they consider the best posts, you'll get the idea.

Where in the H.. did they get such absurd ideas about scams and conspiracies.

It's one thing to not agree that man is causing global warming.  Some of these people have no regard for the environment at all, they think it's a joke.

That's because they have little concept of how interwoven all of life is.

I admit that I wander into hyperbole from time to time but I'm not a conspiracy nut.  I have pointed out who in politics really does well for the environment and the country and who benefits from the status quo, but I don't see it as a conspiracy.  It's natural to protect your territory, but these are the elements that are resisting a transition to a better world.  And when I say that Republicans blocked the parts of the energy bill that would have taken tax credits from big oil companies to put in to alt energy tax credits and point out the $billions in tax payer money the oil companies get, these are facts.

Do you have any idea how much taxpayer money goes directly to the oil companies through tax credits and subsidies? Tens of billions of dollars every year. and Exxon just reported $40 billion in profits for 2007.   These are some of the richest corporations in the world; and we are subsidizing them?

When a recent energy bill had a proposal to take $21 billion in tax credits from these wealthy, profitable companies and put it into alternative energy, which is the future, Bush threatened to veto it. He didn't have to, because 40 Republican senators stripped the measure out of the bill. Why? because they are beholden to the oil companies. That $21billion represents just 1% of the oil company profits.

Obviously, the largest money interests involved are the oil companies. They are the ones with the largest amount of $$ at stake. The big money powers who's profits depend on maintaining the status quo.

But to some people at least, its the environmentalist who are somehow trying to profit by deceiving them.  Huh?

I'm sure this one will get lots of thumbs down.

  6. climate change is just another word you can use to describe global warming.

yet the earth is still warming. just because it is cold outside it dosent mean that AGW or GW is wrong.

  7. Please get baptized into their science, otherwise Mr. Hansen will need a new job and Mr. Gore will fade into obscurity.

  8. Reminds me of a old card trick I know.I can steer you into picking the card I want you to have, without you knowing it.

  9. It's all smoke and mirrors! Well I'm going to hop in my DIESEL spewing suv and go get a cord of wood and start a fire on a no burn day here in Kalifornia.

  10. Whats this question about ? or is it just a sarcastic rhetoric ? if you dont believe in GW thats ok dont go on criticizing those who believe in man made GW.

You can do whatever you want , who cares if things really get critical and a war for survival starts you will be the first to get eliminated by either side so better try to improve on your IQ skills or whatever is left of them.
