  1. itlaian lifestyle, they eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full.  americans eat when we feel like it

  2. Everything in moderation! Pasta with tomato sauce or pesto or olive oil is actually not bad for you. Italians don't load their sauce with sugar either, like the americans do (check out the list of ingredients in eg. Ragu!)

  3. The Italians live a very different lifestyle than Americans do also though.  They are much less sedentary.

  4. pasta is not bad, carbohydrates are; and that is only if you dont exercise. carbohydrates are stored into the body as a form of fat and they are used only when the heart starts to pump from one level and up. that is during an intense fitness program.  this doesnt mean that if you excersise you can eat pasta day in and day out. we all need to follow a balanced diet, that includes more vegetables and pulses, more fish instead of meat, more chicken instead of red meats and definately olive oil and wine. i dont think i have to mention to you the importance of water as well. the next time you go to italy ask an il paisano (that is a local person in italian) about the santa trinita mediteranea, this is the 3 things; bread, olive oil and wine; that are always put first on the italian table, not only in italy but in other mediteranean countries as well.

  5. David J you are so funny! Beating someone with a wet noodle<LOL! Pasta is not bad , it's what you put in it that makes it bad. Meatballs, high calorie sauce, cheese and so forth. White pasta has alot of carbs in them. Whole wheat pasta is better for you. If you must use meat, use lean meat, or chicken, and veggies, yum!

  6. the italians have faster digestive than other people.

  7. i like pasta a lot too!!

  8. so do I.   but this is a question /answer forum. where/what is your question mate. Eating Pasta in Italy is a very exciting experince no doubt,

  9. I love it too!!! yummmmyyy

  10. I love any pasta!! But we need to move more, and not eat all the other fat stuff we eat. Or let's all move to Tuscany! I will buy a villa and ya'll can come for the summer and we will eat pasta every day!

  11. Well, there is such thing as healthy pasta, whole grain pasta is better for you compared to the regular semolina kind. You can eat carbs and still be healthy but you need to get exercise to go along with it.

  12. You are right! Pasta is not bad. Indulgence is. Europeans understand the concept of balance. A little salad, a pasta course, a small main course and fruit (or something light) for dessert.

I own a fine dining restaurant that serves fresh homemade pastas in Pittsburgh, PA. Many of my guests accuse me of not eating my own food. I am fit, not skinny, but fit. Of course I eat my own food. I just balance it like the generations before me have. You can eat anything so long as you do not over indulge in one fattening thing.

Pasta is not the problem. Bad habits are the problem.

Thanks for asking. I hope I helped!

  13. Pasta is my alltime favorite food.I never get tired of it.Whoever said pasta is bad should be beaten severly with a wet noodle...lol
