I liked the Titanic and why it sank and stuff. Is this an oceanographer who studies this? What is a good degree to pursue for someone who likes marine transportation? I am not good at math, at all.

  1. Oceanographers won't study why the Titanic sunk and from the sounds of it, you don't want to be one. Oceanographers study various aspects of the ocean (most typically currents, waves, fluid dynamics, physical properties and geology) and it includes a lot of hardcore math...trust me I took it at uni.

You seem more interested in ships so you'd be better off studying more practical subjects at a Maritime College. Check this list of colleges out:

Start eliminating courses that don't interest you until you find one that does.......or you could just live the dream and become a shipwreck hunter!!

  2. It could probably be an oceanographer who studies why the Titanic sank, in that an oceanographer might study ocean currents and the course of ice bergs.  A marine engineer might also study why the Titamic sank.  What do you like about marine transportation?  Do you want to work on a boat, or just do work about the ocean or near the ocean?  All ships need a variety of crew members from deck hands to cooks and stewards, captains, first mates, engineers, etc.  You would probably be most interested in going to a school that specializes in preparing people for a career in the marine industry.  Here is a link to one such school.  Browsing through its site might give you some ideas.  Best of luck with your plans.
