I really am a people person. I have great customer service skills, very compassionate and caring, not afraid and actually love talking in front of a crowd, love partying and mingling, somewhat organized, strong administrative skills but am having a hard time figuring out how to turn that into a career or what path to take getting there. Please help!! All responses are welcome!

  1. You can go into marketing in a position that will allow you to market the company, have company open houses or organize special events for them, or Organizational Development or Human Resource Management with the intent to become a Training & Development Manager - you would develop training programs, and teach the classes; classes would be for new employee's like orientation, current employees or managers teaching about company brand or new programs that will be launching, in short a lot of your job will be talking to groups of people. You could also do consulting work in just about any field, that also requires you to speak to groups.  Not many jobs allow you to party unless your work in promotional department of a company, again you would need a degree in Marketing.  That or you can be a wedding/party planner, you won't speak to large groups but you can plan parties.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Here are 3 ideas for you...

First, it sounds like you'd be excellent in sales. In a good sales position -- whether you are selling medical equipment, a vacation resort, or consulting services -- you'll get a chance to interact with many people and make frequent presentations.

Sales can be an incredibly rewarding job financially if you're good at it, and top salespeople are often the most highly valued people at a company. It can also be very hard work, and if you're not successful you could find yourself without a job very quickly.  For sample job descriptions, the Yahoo hotjobs page for sales jobs is: http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/jobs-c-Sales

Another second career path to consider: teaching.  For someone who is compassionate and caring and loves talking in front of a crowd, teaching could be a wonderful way to do what you enjoy while building great relationships with your students and having a positive impact on the world.  A nice overview can be found at these two pages: http://www.pbs.org/firstyear/beaTeacher/

Still another potential path: working at (or even starting) a nonprofit to support a specific cause.  From helping animals and children to supporting specific legislation, a person with your skills would have no trouble excelling in this type of environment.  You have to make frequent presentations to advocate for your position, to attract new donors, and inspire the other people at the organization.
