Does anyone have any healthy recipes that are easy to prepare?

  1. You should freeze them in the refrigerator and then put them into a blender.  Add apple juice and blend for a tasty summer treat.


  2. Slice and toss them in a spinach salad.  ouhh...with goat cheese medallions! (If you like goat cheese)

  5. I put them into homemade, all-fruit smoothies

    Just use some apple juice, ice, strawberries, and whatever sounds good to you.  Blend and enjoy.  Experiment with it.

  6. Crush or blend & put in a wine glass with ice cubes. Fill tothe top with sparkling white wine. Melt white or milk chocolate & dip the strawberries in.

You could try an "Eton Mess" I'm English and this is my favorite super easy way of preparing strawberries for dessert...mix chopped strawberries with stiff whipped cream and broken up meringue bits. Simplicity itself and being a Brit I do like to add a little booze to it, so stir in a dash of port if you're feeling adventurous. Yummy, although perhaps not particularly healthy! Maybe you could try substituting the cream for low fat greek style yogurt?

    1.STRAWBERRY KIWI COCKTAIL

    1 part Welch's Strawberry Rasberry concentrate (in cans)

    1 part Absolut vodka

    2 parts Mountain Dew

    1 part Malibu Rum

    1 teaspoon sugar

    In a cocktail shaker, shake well over crushed ice.

    Strain mixture into a chilled glass filled with whole ice cubes.

    2.STRAWBERRY YOGURT POPSICLES

    20 ounces frozen strawberries, unsweetened, thawed

    1 tablespoon gelatin, unflavored

    16 ounces plain lowfat yogurt

    12 packages Sweet 'n Low sweetener, or Equal

    12 3 ounce paper cups

    12 wooden sticks

    Drain strawberries. Place liquid in a saucepan and sprinkle with gelatin.

    Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until gelatin dissolves. Add Equal to yogurt. Mix strawberries, yogurt and gelatin mixture in a blender until smooth. Place paper cups on a tray or baking pan. Fill with blended mixture and cover cups with a sheet of aluminum foil. Insert a wooden stick by making a slit in the foil over the center of each cup.

    Freeze popsicles until firm. Run warm water on the outside of cup to loosen each popsicle from the cup. Makes 12 popsicles.

    3.STRAWBERRY SORBET

    frozen strawberries

    vanilla ice cream

    Sprite or 7-up

    ice cubes

    In a blender, put in frozen strawberries, ice, and Sprite (or 7-up) blend until smooth. add as much vanilla ice cream as u wish and blend it all together for a quick easy dessert that will be ready in 10 minutes!

    4.SPINACH, STRAWBERRY, PECAN SALAD

    1 lb. fresh spinach, washed & dried

    1 pt. strawberries, washed & halved

    1/2 c. pecan halves, toasted

    DRESSING:

    1/3 c. raspberry vinegar

    1 tsp. dry mustard

    1 tsp. salt

    1/2 c. sugar

    1 c. vegetable or olive oil

    1 1/2 tbsp. poppy seeds

    Combine dressing ingredients except the poppy seeds in a blender. Add the poppy seeds by hand. Toss dressing with spinach, strawberries and hot pecans. The hot nuts will slightly wilt the greens.

    5.STRAWBERRY BLENDER BREAKFAST

    2 c. frozen unsweetened whole strawberries

    1 1/2 c. milk

    1/2 c. plain yogurt

    2 env. vanilla flavored instant breakfast mix

    2 tbsp. honey

    In a blender, combine strawberry, milk, yogurt, breakfast mix and honey. Cover, blend until almost smooth, stopping the blender and stirring as necessary. Pour into 3 or 4 (8 ounce) glasses. Serve immediately.

    6.STRAWBERRY PRETZEL JELLO SALAD

    2 c. crushed pretzel sticks

    3/4 c. melted butter

    3 tbsp. sugar

    8 oz. cream cheese

    1 c. sugar

    8 oz. Cool Whip

    1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry banana Jello

    2 c. boiling water

    2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries, partially thawed

    Mix first three ingredients and press in bottom of a 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees (metal pan) or 325 degrees (glass pan) 8 minutes. Let cool completely. Beat 1 cup sugar and cream cheese. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread over pretzels. Mix Jello and water until dissolved. Add strawberries. Stir into Jello, then set aside for 10 minutes. Pour over cheese mixture. Chill.

    7.STRAWBERRY SOUP

    1 1/2 qt. fresh strawberries

    6 tbsp. lemon juice

    1 1/2 c. sugar

    3 c. water

    2 c. whipping cream

    Combine all except cream. Heat slowly until it comes to boil. Cook about 8 minutes, then remove and cool. Blend half the cream and half the mixture at low speed. Now add remaining half and repeat. Store soup in the refrigerator in covered container for at least 4 hours. Serve cold.


  12. Make oatmeal your breakfast. Take 6 tea spoon oatmeal 200 ml low fat milk and boil it. When oatmeal cooked add strawberry pieces and let it cool down.
