I love the 3 minute word timer but I don't want to play a timed game.?

Question

When I join a table and it has a a timer for the game - I either quit or exit the game. My score is being diminished each time I do this but I do not want to play the timed games and don't know how to determine what type of game is being played before joining the table? My score is sufferering every time I exit without playing.

then go to settings and turn the timer off
