I love the name Addison ! What do you think ?

I love the name Addison . I know it means son of something, but I love it for a girls name and so does my friend. I think it's really modern and girly. So before people start saying it means son of something and its a boys name and all that I know, I just really like it for a girl. So what do you think ?

Too trendy.  That name has shot up the popularity lists since everyone heard it on "Grey's Anatomy," and I have no doubt that it will crack the Top 10 for 2008.

Considering that, and the fact that the very similar "Madison" has been very popular for several years now, be prepared for your child to be one of several Addisons and Madisons in her peer group.

People mention the name quite a bit here, and while many will decribe the name as "unique," it is anything but.  Any name that shoots from the #106 spot on the baby names list to the #11 spot in a two year period of time, seemingly because of a character on a nighttime TV drama,is anything but "unique."

It's a great name!  In fact, we've decided to give our daughter that for her middle name when she arrives in September.  I, too, know it started out as a boy name, but I've read that it is becoming more common as a girl name too.  I've also see it spelled 'Addyson' to make it a bit more feminine.  I like the original spelling though!

It is a really pretty name, but I know about 5 little girls born recently named Addison/Addyson//Adisyn, etc. It is pretty, but trendy.

I'm like you I like this name "Addison" for girl's name also, yes, it could be a boy's name, but for this instance its going to be a little girl's name; and you know what she is going to have a very pretty name; like she is going to be, special +unique!
