  1. I never heard it being pronounced HAIL-LEE. Just go with that spelling and pronounce it HAY-LEE because that's what everyone else is going to be saying. I've always loved that name! It's really up to you though, good luck!

  2. Actually it sounds like this is a case of tomato vs tom-ah-to.  To what degree that bothers you should determine whether you want to name you girl that.  I guarantee almost everyone will call her Hay-lee because that is what rolls of the tongue the easiest.

  3. I love it pronounced HAIL-LEE. Maybe spell it Haley? It's kind of like Holly so you could spell it Hally also.

  4. Just let her have her  own little way of saying the name. If anyone else trys to say it that way, correct them. Does she say it because she CANT or doesn't understand the right way to pronounce it? If it's the latter than explain to her. Hailey is a very beautiful name, I actually considered it as my daughters name...but the father turned it down...along with about 20 other girl names I chose >.< So I picked a name even though he turned it down too (Ahyla, as in AYLA...I just spell it different)

Here's several other girl names if you want to look into another one, I don't know your taste, but it'll give you some ideas possibly?:

Madison, Leana, Elizebeth, Clairissa, Davine, Harmony, Sinplesity, Serenity, Helen, Annalynn, Leanne, Loretta, Grace, Emersa.

Stick with what YOU want though, don't change it because someone can't pronounce it right, just correct them and eventually it'll get through. Everyone trys calling Ahyla AW-EE-LA.  (people who don't know me and just read off the name)

  5. I think it is find as long as your mom spells it corectly and if she says fast enpugh you won't beable to tell

  6. umm if you like then keep it

  7. If your mom is having trouble saying the name and insists on HAY LEE sounding, then there is a great liklihood that your girl will spend quite a bit of time correcting others.

I like the name, it rhymes with Baily. Perhaps you can look at alternate spellings that would make it less confusing.

  8. Your Mom is pronouncing the name correctly, according to the spelling.  Sorry!!

  9. I know a Hailey, pronounced Hay-lee. If you do spell it Hailey I guarantee it will be mispronounced all her life.
