I know people say you get cramps from running or exercising too soon after you eat. But no matter how long I wait before I run, I still get cramps, every time. I could not eat all day and still get cramps. When I run for more than 15 minutes I get cramps. (I think I'm breathing right,) because I've heard that can be a problem too. So is there another reason why this is happening, how can I fix it?

  1. drink lots of water throughout the day and stretch before and after you run.

  2. i remember when i started running cross country i would get cramps too. They go away with time :D Just keep up with the running

  3. If you have just started the running the reason you are getting cramps may be because your body is not used to the running.

If this is the case then after a month or two of running at least

3 times a week it should go away. If you have been running for a while then that is probably not the reason. Other reasons could be that you are not properly hydrated.

  4. Getting cramps is a normal part of running but as you get more in shape you will get less of them. A good way to help get rid of cramps is to strengthen your core. Check out www.runnersworld.com for some good core excercises :]

  5. drink LOTS of water throughout they day. you can get cramps from being dehydrated, and you can be dehydrated even if you dont feel thirsty. if that doesnt help, when you run try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth, it helps oxygen get to your lungs quicker. as you get in better shape and keep running, the cramps will eventually stop and will occur less and less.

if you do still get a cramp while your running, pinch it with your hand and tip your head away from the side its on but dont stop running; itll go away

  6. I have played many sports over the years and played multiple sports in high school. I was always told to eat banannas and either eat pickles or drink the pickle juice. I know it sounds gross but it worked for me. I could play entire football games starting on offense and defense and never get cramps. I hope that this will help you.
