Icing

Offsides (I know the concept, just not the lines)

Interference

ANd one question: I know you can clear the puck when you have a power play and are short one man, but when there is an empty new and you have 5, and the other team 6, can the other team clear the puck?

Thanks, I'm trying to get into hockey!

The Chicago Wolves won!

  1. woo! go wolves!

  2. Yes you can. That's how you get empty net goals.  By the way, are the Wolves in the IHL?

  3. Offsides-  The two blue lines, you can't enter the other teams zone until the puck goes in first.

Icing-  If the puck is shot over the red center line all the way down to the goal line it is icing.  The team that shot the puck can nullify the icing call if they reach the puck first.

If icing is called, then the faceoff goes back to their defensive end.

Interference-  Intentionally making contact with an opposing player who is not near the puck.

  4. Offsides- when a player on team A crosses the blue line and enters team Bs zone before the puck. That is a delayed offsides, and team A cannot touch the puck until all the players exit team B's zone. If all the players on team A leave team B's zone, the offsides is wiped out and play continues as normal. If the player on team A touches the puck while being offsides, the whistle is blown and there will be a face off. http://cdn.nhl.com/laceemup/howtoplay/ru...

Icing- Is when a player from team A shoots the puck before it crosses the red line, and it goes over the goal line of team B, and a player from team B touches the puck first. Icing is only called if no players from team B are around the puck. If a player from team B is able to touch the puck before it crosses the goal line, icing is waived off. Icing can only happen when the teams are at even strength. http://cdn.nhl.com/laceemup/howtoplay/ru...

Interference- when a player from team A is trying to get the puck, a player from team B does not allow him to get to the puck, thus 'interfering' with him

  5. 123: Wolves are in AHL

  6. Icing: When you shoot the puck from your zone ( in front of your goalie) all the way to the other end without anybody touching it. Exeptions are when you're a man short or it was clearly an intended pass to another player that just missed.

Offsides: You enter the offensive zone before the puck. Marked with the blue line closest to the opposing goal.

Interference: You interfere with another players ability to get the puck when they don't have it.  It's harder to explain.

The last question confuses me. You can always clear the puck. If you mean ice the puck, then you can't ice the puck when you're shorthanded because of a powerplay, but the team on the powerplay will be called for icing. If there is one more player because of an empty net both teams will be called for icing.

  7. I don't know either but I love the fights.
