Taking lessons will definitely help improve your technique, but the best thing to do is just to sing  A LOT! Sing in the shower, sing at breakfast, the longer you sing, the more you'll start to get the hang of it. Also, you can find tons of tips on the net for singing, and i know that they have helped me a lot.

.Singing is with in the heart. U have to say i can do this and i will. Heres a basic singing lesson. When ur first r singing a song u should speak out and get the right rythem or tune; you also should hum it so you no what u need to do with your voice. Many people sing through there nose witch sounds sqeaky your suppose to sing with the diaphragm. Put ur hand over your stomach if you feel it move your doing it right! Also start with little songs u feel comfortable with hit a desk to practice rythm. i hope i helped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take singing lessons if you truly want to sing. But you sound like you're more passionate about songwriting than singing. Most of the best singers don't write their own songs- they hire people to do that. Keep up with your songwriting. It could result into a great career someday.

Yes, singing lessons, or just stick to song writing not all singers write there own songs so they need good writers to write songs for them.

Just keep at it.  Unless you have completely decided that you want to always sing the songs yourself, don't bother with lessons.  

The Beatles couldn't sing either, but they wrote great songs!

Cuppy's got it. SING ALL THE TIME. And find your own tone. You dont have to sound like everyone else to sound good.
