  1. uhhh no..it's just Canada.  It might as well be our 51st state

  2. As a US citizen you dont need a visa to come to Canada, you do need a valid passport or another valid travel document. You can stay here up to 180 days as a TOURIST. If you intend to work here you need to apply for a work permit. Asides from that everything's great, it's a wonderful country to visit.

Good luck and welcome to Canada! :)

  3. No you don't need a visa to visit Canada as an American.  You can live there up to 6 months per year, without working.  If you wish to work then its a little more complicated; then you would need a job offer and some demonstrated background in that field...and usually a degree, to obtain a work visa.

  4. You can visit for six months as an American citizen.

If you want to stay longer or work or study you need to apply for a visa here:

  5. for US citizen ...no you don't need a visa.

To get across the border by land you need a birth certificate (or other proof of US citizenship) and government issued photo id (drivers license).

If flying in, you need a passport to get back into the US.

You can stay up to six months

  6. no you do not need a visa and as of yet if driving over the border you do not need a passport just government issued photo ID and your birth certificate,if flying to canada you need a passport

after june 2009 you will need a passport for all entry

  7. ever since 9/11 you need a passport.

  8. Nope, just a passport and photo ID for a period of time under 180 days I think

but check out this site for details:

  9. It depends upon how long you're planning on staying.  visits of six months or less do not require a visa.  Over six months would require a visa of some sort.  Depending upon your method of travel to and from Canada you may or may not need a valid passport.  if you're coming on a short vacation and travelling by car all you need is proof of citizenship and valid phot ID.  If you're flying you'd need a passport because you wouldn't be able to get back into the United States without it.
