  1. I'm not trying to nitpick, but proofreading may be the first thing to do. you say you want 2 know. I know it sounds like nothing but if I have 8 applicants for a job and one doesn't know the difference between to,too, and two/2,I Have found one application that will be trash canned if all other things are equal and the other candidates have equivalent skills/qualifications. The grammar rule also relates to "cuz", or "cause", or let me aks you this . when someone is meeting you for the first time, your dress/hygiene,manners,and speech are all they have to go on,and if the job you seek is being sought by many other applicants, then all it takes is the slightest little thing to scuttle your chances. you may wish to consider this as well; while at the hospital you have help/rescue nearby from the emergency room almost all the time, but at a private docs office its just you and the other staff until the ambulance gets there if someone starts getting unstable.

by the way, what is it about the hospital that makes you nervous?as far as actually finding an open position,I Would assume that ads in the newspaper are one option,as well as ads in the back of nursing journals, you could also try headhunter/employment agency if the going gets tough. We haven't needed to advertise for some time because we usually scoop the good students that pass through our facility (if they have the qualifications)which we had been able to confirm during their time with us. Most important is to present yourself as someone who is fun to work with without being inappropriate because these folks are going to be spending practically more time with you than your spouse. Best of luck with the job search

  2. A lot of nurses do not like hospital work. There are usually Nurses Associations that can give you leads as to who is looking for an office nurse.  Want ads still work, too.

I would never hire you, though-- you come across as illiterate with the "i","m" "nsg" "coz" and "2".  Remember the guy looking to hire you is fairly well educated. He will be looking at your attention to detail, your command of English, that sort of thing.

Get in the habit of presenting yourself favorably. Shortcuts may be fine for notes, but not anything else.

  3. Same way you find other jobs.  You can post your resume on www.monster.com, www.careerbuilber.com, or other website that assist individuals in location a position.  I suppose you can cold call doctor's offices & ask but most doctor's office prefer to hire nurses with some experience.  You can even ask your own physician & solicite his assistance... he must have friends that own their own practices, right?  Why does working at a hospital make you feel nervous?  Think of ALL the skills you've learned to master while in you were in nursing school... you won't be able to utilize most of them.  If you decide to work at a doctor's office as oppose to a hospital, you are really narrowing your opportunity.  Work at a hospital for at least 6-12 months before you decide... you may end up really liking it.  I can relate to your apprehension having been a nursing student myself but don't limit yourself so early on!!!  Good luck!!!  =]
