  1. No problem, except in the state of Gujarat, even there foreigners are allowed to have liquor.


  2. No problem as long as they are for your personal consumption. But I don't think Customs will allow you with dozens of bottles though.

    Why don't you buy them in India?

    - only in Gujarat, even not applicable for the foreigners.

    You are most welcome even with dozens of wine bottles in India.

    You may follow the below, if you like :-

    - do not open the bottles in public places

    - try to open them well after dusk

    - be with your own people and not with strangers

    - try to remain in four walls

    - do try not to travel much after consumption

    - avoid ladies gatherings who are not in habit of taking wine

    - if possible, make "wine" popular here as most people use others like rum, beer, whisky and gin. You may conduct a 'wine testing class' here without any fees.
