I am not sure how to respond or how to post. Any help? I would love to have proper manners online.

Thank you,

J.

  1. When someone offers an item, reply to the message by sending them an email that you are interested in the item.  Include info about when you can pick up.  They will reply to you if the item is still available and you can arrange to pick up the item.

If you have something to offer, you can post a message from the group website by clicking on the word Post in the left hand menu bar or by sending an email to groupname@yahoogroups.com where groupname is the actual name of the group.  Subject should contain OFFER; item location. Example, "OFFER: couch household items, Yourtown".  People who are interested in your offers will reply to you by email.

  2. Other proper manners, just to smooth things a bit.

If you respond, be polite. I tend not to give stuff to people who just say "I'll take it."

When you set up a time, please show up. If you can't make it, let the other person know ASAP, and apologize.

When you offer something, be complete and honest about the description. And please post your general location, it helps a lot with logistics.

I wish more people were like you, thanks for your manners!
