  1. On Memorial Day the parks will be very crowded, so plan on it taking longer to see everything.

If you want to just enjoy the parks but don't feel like you have to do everything or the trip was a bust one day each is fine.  If however you want to hit nearly every attraction you will want at least two days at Disneyland.  More than that and you'd be burnt out on it anyways even if you haven't ridden every ride and seen every show.  If possible (your transportation planning may not allow for it) a good way to go would be to go to arrive in the area your first morning and get to Disneyland by late morning, spend a full day at the park and going well into the evening to see the night time fireworks and evening music shows.  Follow that up with a full day at Hollywood, one day is fine there.  Return to Disneyland day three (the one day in between will make some things you do again your second day more fun again instead of burning you out) to catch some attractions you missed and revisit your favorites.  You'd see maybe not every single show available, but all the rides, and still be able to get on the road that evening for your return without feeling like you were pulled out early.

    Have fun!

  2. go for the whole weekend. It will be real crowded for the entire weekend so more days will allow you to do a larger variety. Go to http://uscarnys.com/ThemeParks.html and scan for coupon offers.
