I made a ant farm, I found no queens but I found winged ants. Can they breed and about when will this happen?

Their black ants, and not carpenter ants. Serious question and be intelligent. Please know what your talking about.

  1. A typical pre-requisite of ant breeding involves the prospective mothers and fathers flying up to a height of fifty foot or more before copulating.  It's a contest to sort out parental suitability.  Unless the construction of your ant farm takes that obligation into account, then breeding would be improbable at any time.

    well why don't you look the breed up online. and if you have a male and a female of that kind then most likely it will breed

  4. Most of the winged ants are fertile males, one of them (the biggest) is the queen.

    They need to go on a mating flight to make more little baby ants.
