I made a huge mistake today on ebay. Can anyone help me?

Well, I listed an item on ebay and I happened to put it on the "Buy It Now" list. Well after about two hours after listing the item someone bought it. The problem is that I sold this for less than what I was supposed to sell it for. The lady that I sold it for got really upset because she wanted more and I had mistakenly put the wrong amount on the "Buy It Now". What can I do? I have to cancel the auction reguardless of what anyone says so that i will not upset the person I sold it for but I don't want to upset the buyer either and risk the chance of getting negative feedback. What can I do or what form do I have to fill out? I am going to go ahead and refund the money back to the lady through paypal. What explanation can I give the buyer for this problem?

  1. Since she bought something through you, you can probably find her phone number (with her shipping info). Calling her might work better for this situation. Explain to her your situation and tell her that you'll gladly refund her money ASAP and that it will be available for auction if she really wants the item. As for the old crab... she should be selling her own stuff if she wants a fool-proof way of getting it done the way she wants. As for the feedback you really can't help it now it depends on how kind the customer is. But she should base her feedback on her experience, not whether she liked what happened or not. You may also want to consult the eBay Live chat. (On the home page i think).

  2. You're breaking a legally-binding contract of sale. If all you get is bad feedback, I'd count yourself lucky.

  3. It was your mistake.  You eat the loss.
