  1. It sounds like you might need to add pectin. Most fruits contain pectin already, but the amounts vary (apples tend to be high in pectin), sometimes the fruit doesn't have enough natural pectin to gel properly when cooled. You can buy commercial fruit pectin in most supermarkets or anywhere that sells home canning supplies. Good luck with your jelly! ^_^


  2. If you made it with the pectin recipe on the box it takes about 24 hours to set up.

  3. Did you put enough sugar in it and did it cook long enough.  My aunt has been making apple butter...she says the longer she cooks it the thicker it gets.
