Our dance studio has a little show in December, and the dancers always make up the dances. During the summer, I've been making up dances just for fun and when the time comes, I'll see which I like best and probably use it for the show. I made up a hip-hop dance and I looooove it. It's to Shawty Get Loose and it goes perfectly and I feel really ghetto when I do it, haha. But today we started summer dance practices, and one of the seniors[I'm a freshman] started teaching us her dance, and it's to the same song! Not only that, but it's a little repetitive and I personally think mine's better, and it goes better with the music.

Ugh, please give me advice!

  2. You can stick to the same song, but try to show your dance before the senior dose because you did yours first, she would look like the copy cat.

  3. Ghetto isn't anything funny!!..With that said, if you really think yours is better than hers, then after class politely tell her the situation, and say that you have ideas or if she would like to see your routine, dancing is networking if you can't talk about things nobody will want to work with you.

  4. maybe try another song? "show me the Money" by petey pablo is a good hip hop dancing song
