Question:

I make a few thousand pounds a year betting on racehorses. Is there a market to sell my methods to?

Been making a small extra income betting the horses in England for 4 years now. Made a profit of £3,149, £4,284, £2,961 and £3,392 (so far this year).

Not a fortune is it, so just wondered if I could sell the methods I use for extra income. I was thinking about a small report or guide that would be about a dozen pages long. Is there a market and how much would it sell for?

Best answer chosen by me will get a free copy of one of my methods. It is one that will be in the guide or report, if and when I write it.

  1. To be honest there are a 1000001 tipsters, you would have to prove that your method works, which means it would have to be analysed over the next 1-3 yrs showing a profit, personally i would not pay for tips but you never know someone on here might be able to point you in the right direction...good luck with your venture i hope it works out for you.

  2. Since success at the track involves pari mutual betting (which is essentially betting against the other horse-players) by revealing your methods you make it harder to win big payoffs  yourself. Why give your secrets away? I know you want to sell your tips and methods but you will probably do better wining at the track than selling your methods.

And by the way, Hello, gambling is not bad. It is no different than playing the lottery (you just get a better chance to win a little something if you take the time to study).

  3. Since I've lost enough money on horse racing to buy a small Manhattan condo, I admire your handicapping skills. However, in terms of marketing yourself as a horse savant, you have not won great amounts of money.

You could sell tip if you write in a lively or humorous manner, though.

  4. Yes there maybe be. If you have made 3392 pounds gambling this year betting less than 500 pounds i'll buy your system.

  5. Not me, gambling is BAD

I bet you won't pick me as best answer.

  6. You are doing okay on the face of it. Nice profiuts, most people lose, because they are greedy.

I win a little myself but would not know how to write a booklet/guide or how to sell it. There is a lot of people who buy these things. I remember buying a booklet years ago on rating horses. By a guy called Clive Holt, I think. Cost £15 and he sold tens of thousands of the blighters. Now that's a lot of wonga for a booklet that was not really that good.

I say go for it buddy! But don't spend all your winnings on publishing it!
