I make patterns & crafts by hand. How do I copyright a pattern for items I make?

I make these crafts from my own patterns to sell.

  1. Your patterns are considered copyrighted automatically. To be super-official, you could take them to a notary and get it stamped and dated. The notary can't promise they're yours, but he or she can promise they saw it on such and such a date, so if someone else claims they invented it, you'd have proof you did it first.

    All the same, you will be copied, just keep an eye out for people claiming that they are the designer. And be ready with your next great design because there are more copycats than designers out there!
