Today a police officer came to my house today and told me that 3 people filed police reports about me, my truck, with license plate and everything. I have a blue strobe light in my truck, and I used it a couple times to have people get out of my way. I never pulled anyone over. The officer found the police light in my truck, and took pictures of it. He also told me I may be changed with impersonating a police officer. I'm only 16, but what should I do? And what do you think will happen?

  1. Depends on the state you are in.

I Wisconsin blue lights are only for Police vehicles and having one on in a moving vehicle is defined as impersonating a police officer.

Given your age you will be charged but the DA will likely plea deal it down to some traffic violation.

The real question is WHY do you have a blue light and WHY are you so important that you need to move people out of your way?

  2. show him your badge and tell him you can't give a ticket to a fellow officer

  3. I guess you should start impersonating a jail bird!!

  4. Ok what would possess you to have such a light and use it? The use of the light and having it in your vehicle is sufficient ground to charge you with three witnesses backing up the charges.

What you should do is not do it again.

  5. yes the officer can ask for your blue light that you had in your truck. you expect him to let you keep it after what you did?only thing i can say is just pray you only get Juvi. this is a felony

  6. datz wut you get for showing off fool. you should throw that garbage away and act like a man you're almost 18. you need to be responsible for your actions.

  7. Pee your pants.

You could seriously go away for a long time for that.  It's a serious offense.  Some people do that to pull people over and rape women, or rob them, or kill them.

That is what the judge will be concerned about.

He will be thinking that if you are only 16 and already that bold about commiting such a crime, you should be taught a serious lesson.  You will probably go to juvie.

Good luck.  Try to sound like you are remorseful in court so you don't get yourself in more trouble.

I think this was very irresponsible of you, by the way.

  8. YOUR CHARGE IS INAPPROPRIATE, first of all you never told the people that you were a police officer, by the mere look at you at 16 years old nobody in his right mind would believe you as a cop. SO YOU WERE NEVER A COP in the first place. There is no charge of impersonation of a police officer in your case. This is most probably a misdemeanor and just a fine for you.

If the police officer demand that you give him your blue strobe light demand a receipt in order for you to claim it in the police office once the case is close otherwise the police officer will just take it home and be used exclusively for himself. This is against the rules.

  9. get a good enterny

  10. I doubt you'll get charged.  It sounds like a pretty flimsy case.  I mean, the worst they can probably get you for is having some sort of illegal light in your car depending on state law.  Don't fret.  Plus, you're only 16 so it probably won't stick if they do charge you.

  11. I am certainly no expert in this subject , but they are going to really have a stretch to make a case for you impersonating a police officer , especially if they can not prove that you led people in some way to believe you were a police officer or anyone to testify that you had

mislead anyone verbally by telling them you were a police officer . Police officers do the same thing when they arrest someone in a speed trap in an unmarked car . How do we know who is and who isn't a plolice car . I was and always have been told , never to stop for an unmarked car , but call by cellphone and report the person following you and where you are . That very thing has very recently save lives in some states . The other thing is , who gave them permission to search your vehicle , you , a warrant , or did they just dive into the car and search . If you have to go to court I would be sure to tell my lawyer about this

  12. Whats done is done - you have no control about what happens next.

Perhaps you may want to look for the local bus schedule - I think that's your mode of transportation in the near future.

If you end up on a road clean up crew as part of your sentence - I'll honk and waive -

  13. What do your parents say? Have you talked to them about it?  You WERE impersonating either an officer or fireman (depending on what they use for lighting in your state) and were caught, so you will have to go pay the piper.  Just think how bad you would feel if you using the light caused an accident/death.  Talk to your parents and get a good attorney.
