I downloaded and opened an .exe file that didn't do what it was intended for. Now whenever i load windows vista i get a window pop up titled gpedits with the following error message: Patch applied successfully! If your software is still trial maybe you need to install it before patch. (OK)When i click OK it goes away and comes back about 30 seconds later. It doesn't seem to have any adverse effects on the performance of the PC and nothing has stopped working. I can stop it from re-appearing by stopping the process in the task manager but it just comes back again each time i log on and i can't find anything to stop it on start up in the MSCONFIG window either. How can i get rid of this? (oh and BTW my Norton antivirus is up-to-date and isn't picking anything up.
