I may have signed up for Yahoo India in error instead of Yahoo USA.?

Question

When I use Yahoo, I want to use Yahoo USA, not Yahoo India. Somehow Yahoo India got on my computer without my knowing it. I've never been in India. I want to continue using Excite.com as as my homepage.

god knows but im on yahoo india too. no idea wen my account is a uk one but when i go on yahoo answers its automaticlly yahoo india

This is an issue with 'preferred content'.

You might have selected Yahoo! India instead of Yahoo! USA.

Here's how you go about changing it.

1.Login to your Yahoo! e-mail account.

2. On the top right corner, you would see 'Options'.

3. Click on it.

4. In the page that opens up, in the middle section under 'Management', you would see 'Mail addresses'

5. Click on it.

6. In the new page,  click on 'Edit'.

7. Now, in the page that comes up, on the left-hand side,

you would see 'Account Information'. Click on that.

8. You would be prompted for your password. Enter it.

9. Now, on the screen, you would see 'Member Information' with an 'Edit' on the far right. Click on that.

10. In the new page, under 'General Preferences', you would see 'Preferred Content' as 'Yahoo India'.

11. Click on 'Yahoo India'

12. Now change it to 'English-United States'

13. Click on 'Finished'

14. Now, click on 'I accept'

15. You're ready to rock!!!!!!

Alternatively, if your e-mail address extension is [e-mail] and want it changed to [e-mail], then you'll have to register a new account on the signup screen and select 'Yahoo USA' as preferred content.

just sign up again this time with www.yahoo.com it will direct you the usa site.
