  1. Your gauge is too small and your fuse is too big. Depending on what the actual RMS output of your amp is you need at least 4 guage.

The fuse is there to protect your cable from melting. So at the moment you have a 100 amp fuse trying to protect 8 gauge cable that only has a current carrying capacity of 56 amps.

You need to upgrade to at least 4 gauge cable which has a current carrying capacity of 110 amps and then your 100 amp fuse will be serving it's purpose and you wont be melting cable which can cause fire.

  2. you make sure that the wire is thick enough (here's a chart to help http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learnin... and you have the correct size in-line fuse in it to protect the wire and your sounds

  3. Cuz you have 8 gauge. Your amp is powerful you should be using 0 gauge.

  4. 400 watts to 1000 watts is for a 4 guage wire set and 1500 watts and up is for a 2 and 0 gauge/w a higher wattage in-line fuse,,, so use a 4 and change the  ground also,,,use a memphis wire set good threading,,,
