I might be eligible for a hardship license does anyone know anything about it?

My mom told me that it was for people who have gone through something hard and theres no way to get around but your not old enough for a license so you can get it early. Is that true?

If it isnt what is a hardship license? Do you know if you can drive friends or family around? Please tell me all you know on the subject.

A hardship license is given to someone convicted of a DUI or other drug/alcohol related driving offense or repeated driving offenses.. Basically, it grants the recipient the privilege of legally getting back and forth to work  while their license is suspended under the assumption that it will be impossible for the person to both pay their fines and afford a cab every day to work.



When you get one, you have to provide the route with which you would take to work, and the times that you should reasonably be expected to be on the road. If you get stopped  by a COP not on this path or time, you will have your hardship license revoked and you will have to find a ride to work for rest of your suspension. Plus during your hearing you could be charged with extra offenses, for violating your suspension.
