I might see a cbt therapsits. but she cost £80 per session. Is it worth it if she helps me?

i have had dymythia for about 2 years caused by social anxiety

  2. I am a psychologist by trade, and having had the experience of seeing therapy patients improve over time, I could heartily endorse therapy. However, I'm not familiar with "dymythia" and wouldn't be able to say if CBT is the best type of therapy for you to pursue. Social anxiety itself can be treated by any type of therapists. If you're interested in finding out the root core of your problems, consider looking into insight-oriented therapy (such as psychoanalytic psychotherapy). Regardless, since the most important component in therapy is the relationship between you and your therapist, if you don't feel comfortable with her then you should find another therapist. But overall, yes, therapy has been found to help.
