i might want to try out for the high school soccer team at my new school. im really shy though and i think im not good enough.

i havent done much exercise this summer.

i havent jogged or anything. i havent really been out of the house.

i dont have much of a yard because we live on the intercoastal and the pool and porch space takes up all the room.

i havent practiced at all. the last time i played soccer was during spring soccer season.

im pretty ok at defense line but dribbling the ball around and kicking it as far as i can with the inside of my kleete, well im not so great. i've tried hard and beat myself up for all this because i cant.

i dont know what to do because this is one of the things i enjoy doing, especially since it gets me out of the house.

i've never tried out for the high school team or club. just rec. :/

any tips, advice, words of wisdom? help...?

i would appreciate it.

please and thank you.

- sharon :]

if i confused you, contact me or let me know. :[ sorry for the inconveinience if any.

  1. Any exercise is good to stay in shape i.e. swimming

  2. start jogging a lot now and go ahead and try out. before they make you try out they do conditioning. that should get you ready.

  3. Just be optimistic try the best you can nothing wrong with that if you dont make the team but hopefully you do! don't let it get to you. Just be like oh darn maybe next year?

  4. wow, you know i also haven't exercised, and just jogged once...

but still, i really am kind of athletic... i want to try out for high school volleyball, tennis and badminton this year. im going to grade 10, so .. i mean i didnt join anything last year...

    this year would be a gud year to start off once again;;

and its best that you do join all you can because if your applying for scholarship they also look for your athletic clubs you participated in, as well as in resumes.

so... gud luck,, and i hope you and i both get in any teams we joinn =P* <3

  5. go for it, i loove soccer, and im trying out for the highschool team, and the organization is amazing, wayyyy better than classic or rec soccer. i cant wait until the game season starts!! =]

  6. if u feel like u can do it, and you really want to, i think you shouldnt really need that much advise, just go for it try your best, and be yourself. :)

  7. be yourself, try your hardest, and have fun!

    good luck

  8. I'm a freshman who has always played rec soccer, and I plan to try out.  Even if you haven't played recently, you will very likely get on a team.  Most schools have a freshman team, and very few people don't get to play.  There will be girls that have never played before, and the simple fact that you know the game will give you an advantage over them. Besides, what do you have to lose?

  9. go for it if you don't make it it isn't the end of the world but if you make it you may make new friends along the way

  10. I was a bit shy on my soccer team, well just try out cause there will maybe be alot of people and if you see anyone you know just stick with thme during the season or just stay true with yourself. Just keep practising. If you make the team you will probaly make freinds and you can practise with them and then theres soccer practise to. Also maybe you could sign up for a soccer league, just houseleague because it doesnt sound like your a pro. Most of the people in houseleague are there cause parents sign them up so you having expereince would be good.

  11. try out, and if you dont make the team, then ask why you didnt make it, and improve on those things

  12. You wont get good without practice. If you want to do it then go try it. You can't succeed without first failing.

Find a way to practice, use the garage wall or a hard wall to practice off of for rebounding and dribbling. If you practice enough and get good you can do anything.

  13. you're probably not going to make the team. sorry  high school ball is competitive and you have to be in top shape for it.  it's not walk in the park.  i wouldn't even tryout and embarrass myself if i were you

  14. Well always believe in yourself and never give up hope. You may want to try practicing soccer again because no one can be good without practicing. And just try your best when your trying out . one of the problems i have is i think im doing it to see whos best but always do it for your self:]

  15. just be your self start working out now practice even if you have to kick the ball in the pool swim some laps walk and condition your self if you don't make the team its not the end of the world just have fun and enjoy highschool thats the key just enjoy it

  16. well i had the same problem i was trying out for my schools team and they won championships thats how good they were and i didnt know if i was good enough. but heyy if its something u really enjoying doing. then go for it. u never know unless u try. and if u dont make it then at least u tried. what do u have to lose??

  17. Better start working out now. doesnt matetr if your shy just be focus and try to be a team leader and dont goof off. Always try to improve ur weaknesses and improve on what your good on.

  18. Getting involved in sports and activities will get you noticed.  Just do it & face your fears.  Good luck at your new school!

  19. Go For it, girl!  More Power to you!  We need more people to try out for school activities!

  20. I would definitely reccommend trying out. Worst that can happen is that you get cut. But excercise is wonderful! Try to get out of the house, and don't be afraid to try out. :) You will meet new people, new friends, you will gain confidence, you will feel great working out, you will have a lot more energy during the day! You will do great!

  21. work out and run. It will improve your social life as well.

  22. swim in your pool to get bigger muscles but run around a couple blocks
