well my day started off okay as a freshmin. first my day was so not normal. everyone was so big, tall.. and i was like the only 16 year old walking through the hallway.. it made me felt so intimidated. Then by the time my third class was about to get started~i went direct on time.. as i looked through the door.. all the seats had been taken.. and the class was already in session. then when i went into the classroom.. i looked like a total dummy standing, since there was no seats~and no one didn't even say anything to me not even the professor.. so then i leave after 2 mins.. and went home..Now i can't stop thinking about it.. its giving me a headache just by the tought of knowing i must have missed out a lot on the first day of class.. Have u ever experienced this?? or is this not so a big deal?

thankx in advance.

  1. It was the first day; your grade will be fine. I've been in classes where students end up sitting on the floor. There's no shame in that. It makes you look eager to learn, which can be good for the prof to see as long as the class doesn't have hundreds of students.

  2. Next time, try to get there earlier so that you have a seat and feel more comfortable.

It's normal for there not to be enough seats on the first day, because they expect that many students will change around their schedules and drop the class. If you can't get a seat again, try to find somewhere to sit on the floor, if possible... But try to be there early and get a seat first! :)

Don't worry about your grade because of it. It'll be fine.

  3. You probably didn't miss out on anything.  They just hand out the syllabi's and dismiss class 10 mins later. The only problem might be if they took a roll call or had a sign in sheet.  Some profs drop students that don't show up the first day especially if popular classes.  I would email the prof or look up their office hours and stop by.
