I missed my USPS package today-can I pick it up at the post office today if I go right before it closes?

The "Sorry We Missed You!" card says that I can pick it up tomorrow, but I was wondering if it might be available if I go later this afternoon...Anyone ever tried this???

Can you try it?  Yes.  Are you guaranteed to get your package?  No.  The timing will be everything.  You'll have to be there after the Letter Carrier returns from completing the route but before the close of business.  If its terribly urgent you can call the office and ask if you can pick it up after hours from a supervisor at the back door.

The truck carrying the package probably won't be back at the Post Office until the end of the day - they didn't run right back because they didn't find you - so I doubt you can get it before tomorrow, because they have to get it off the truck and in a location where the clerk can find it for you there.

Still, you could just call up and ask them, maybe you'll get lucky.
