I had a appointment yesterday to become a foster parent and i was so sick that i did not want to go and get everyone else sick i have been sick on and off for 3 weeks. Now i feel that i should have still gone. and I feel as if i did something wrong. If i was working i would have still gone. I dont think that there is any other reason just that i was sick. i just feel so bad!

  1. "I don't think that there is any other reason just that I was sick" By the way you post this something is going on with you. Look deep into yourself and see if you really want to be a foster parent. It is not a easy job and you may have to face the fact that it will not workout.  Are you afraid you will get attached to the child and then lose them if they are removed or adopted by the agency? A foster program is a kid on loan, make sure you are there for the right reason. They deserve that. Most of these kids have many problems, first no matter how bad their situation was they have been taken away from the only family they have known. There is no shame if you change your mind, only if it's something that sounded like a good idea and wasn't for you. Guilt is a way of doing something and punishing yourself to go and do it again.

  2. it's a message from god.

  3. Did you call them yesterday before the appointment and let them know you were sick, but still were interested?  If not, I would make sure they knew you weren't just blowing them off and would like to set up a new date.

    Good luck!

  4. Feeling bad will not change the situation- I would call them back and make another appt-  if you are meant to become a foster parent that appt will confirm that you are, and if you are not meant to be a foster appt= that will confirm that as well- however if you never go, you'll never go.  You say it may be a sign from God- God will answer you when you take action- so go for it!!

  5. Feeling bad isn't going to make it any better.  Call and see if they can schedule another appointment, explain that you were sick.  Good luck!

  6. Don’t feel bad just call and tell them you feel ill, things happen. I doubt it’s a message form God. God praises anyone who takes care for his young lambs. Even more those in the foster care system who need even more special care sometimes.  Perhaps the lord is putting it off because there is a certain child out there that might not be placed with you if this had not be delayed
