Question:

I missed the interview date set by KCC(postal delays) in the current DV Lottery.Will a new date be assigned?.

DV Lottery 2008. An email of the interview letter was sent to the US Consulate in my country for a reschedulment of date but no reply has been recieved.

  1. Its hard to tell. When i asked them to change the interview date back in 2005 since i received the letter a week before the interview time they were saying i might loos the chance, so God bless. Wish you the best


  2. They warned us that if we miss the interview date we could be subject to starting ALL OVER in the waiting process. They mail information for your interview 20 days in advance, and they HATE to reschedual. Only if you are able to prove you did not have sufficient time to prepare, then they might reschedual.

  3. Shouldn't be a problem. But there's a bit of bureaucratic paperwork that needs to be cleared up, since the DV's are limited in number. KCC and folks at the Department of State have to track the numbers. One, to make sure they don't accidently issue too many visas, and two, to make sure they don't issue too few.  The second might seem strange to you, but if they don't issue enough visas they also get a lot of criticism about that. The program runs until next September 30, so there's plenty of time at this point to correct problems like this. If you don't hear anything by next month, contact them again.
