the first week of high school i didnt know anything so i didn't know when the tryouts were.

i really really (x10) want to play volleyball this year. Im worried if the coach won't even listen to me and think that im crazy if i ask him about it after almost 2 weeks of school.

If you guys were the coach, would you scooch me off and think that im weird??

Also if i cant get in, is it okay to join when im a sophomore and i wouldn't know how to play volleyball?

im not that bad in volleyball, it's just that imconfused with the rules and all... ive played during PE and i loved it! I really love sports- more than academics (=

  1. The only way they will let you on the team now is if they are short of players to make the squad and did not make any cuts.  (I was recruited to play on the boy's JV basketball team from gym class.  The season had already started.  The first game was on Friday and I joined the team 3 days before.  The catch was not my immense talent.  It was that I had OK talent and the team only had 8 players.  The coach wanted bench warmers in case of injury.)

Talk with the coach.  See if they can recommend a local YMCA or other league where you can play.  Also, ask if they can recommend a club.  Tell the coach that about your situation about the tryouts this season.  Also, tell the coach that you want to try out next season.  See if you can attend some practices so you can see how the coach works.

  2. First, after tryouts, the coach normally wont let you join the team, but with that said it cant hurt to ask.

But, especially with not knowing the proper structure and rules I cant see him adding you on after turning others down who made it to tryouts.

My biggest suggestion to you is. Why dont you ask the coach if he knows of any winter leagues that you can join, and make sure he knows your name so you dont miss try outs next year.

You really should join a club volleyball or local "for fun" team, or even a competitive winter team before trying out for hs volleyball. I dont know what school you go to, but all the schools we played in hs including our own are highly competitive.. you need to learn more about it before you try to play for a team like that

    Good luck

  3. Coaches are there to help he will think you are a hard worker if you ask him questions it will help you.

  4. First things first, if I was a vball coach and someone asked to play for me after weeks of school I wouldn't allow them to play because they didn't show the initiative to find out when try outs were for JV.  Also if you don't know how to play vball then you probably won't make them team even if you had made it to try outs.

  5. You'd better hire a good coach, Your Highness.

You may bring your bodyguard with you when you go see the coach the next time, Your Highness.

Joke aside, I really think you should join a club besides playing for your school.

  6. For all you know the games have already started so try going to a club team instead they are always welcoming and will be good to get you started on the game...but they may be competeive and very high priced but in the ends it worth it. If you really are that set on playing for your high school just ask...I don't know what I'd say as the coach just because I've never seen you play. Anyway good luck!

  7. talk the to the coach..

and explain that u want to try out..

    and dont wory..

i just only enter in my team just this year but i already playing in teams before and won a lot of time..

and yesterday is the last time to changing clas and the one gurl just sign in the volleyball even she doesnt try out..

    k??..

dont worry he or she wont reject u..

    k??..

    gud luck..

if u luv the sport go for it..

  8. Speaking as a coach, they are not going to let you join now.  However, they would probably be glad to have you as a manager, especially if you are willing to be responsible and work hard.  Some coaches will let managers warm up or do some drills with the team, and even if they don't you will have the opportunity to observe the things that the coach tells the team.  I also agree with those that said you need to find somewhere outside of school to play, if you want to play next year.  It will be very hard to come in as a sophomore having never played anywhere except in PE.  But if there is a USAV/JO team anywhere near you, it would be well worth the money to join.  The experience you get on a JO team is much more than most players get on a regular high school team.
