I used to live in Panama City Beach right on the Gulf. I spent at least one weekend a month in Tampa, Atlanta, or New Orleans, but generally enjoyed the Gulf Coast. Personally, I prefer San Diego over Miami by a wide margin. If you're willing to consider options outside the US, Barcelona is a good choice.

Miami!!!! Its a great city, always sunny, sometimes hurricanes come thru tho.... but on the bright side, you have the beach, lots of cute little shops, overall its a pretty good place. Some of the ppl are stuck up, but you have that in any city (No offense to anyone out there). Best wishes to you in whatever you decide!

PS. Or you could just move up to beautiful SC, up in the foothills! Its where i live. its country, but beautiful mountains, great ppl. Lol just an idea

If you don't like the humid summers in Miami, try San Diego, sunny, but a little cooler and not the humidity!  Great things to do around town and also a bit safer than Miami.
