I moved into my dorm today. Is it okay to put a microwave directly next to my TV?

if it is a LCD it should be fine but if you an older tv that is a CRT based (glass screen) tv then you could get color spots on the screen when the microwavw is running and they might stay there

It probably won't hurt either appliance, BUT a microwave has to have it's own outlet, with nothing else plugged in with it. If you plug a microwave and another appliance together in the same 2-hole outlet you are going to blow fuses, and probably destroy your microwave and the other appliance. I learned this the hard way, so trust me on this one.
