I moved my refridgerator from one location to another and now it doesnt work.?

the fridge was moved on it's side about 100 yards. it turns on but no the fan isnt working. it's been plugged in for 8 hours but it isnt cooling.

  1. Bad news... it's shot.  Lubrication for the compressor gets messed up when you put it on it's side.


  2. It's probably toast, I'm afraid.  If you must move a refrigerator or freezer on its side, you should let it stand upright for at least 8 hours before plugging it in.  Overnight is better.

    The lubricant in the compressor flows out into the system when you lay it down, and it needs time to drain back in.  If you run it before the lubricant is back in the compressor, it usually ruins it.

  3. unplg the fridge then make sure all the push on connectors are on tight. Laying it on it's side could have made one of the wire fall off
