  1. No..it doesn't make you a bad person...If this is your absolute LAST RESORT...then file and move on with your life.....People file for all different reason....illness, loss of job...divorce, but, learn from the hardship and once you have done this, move on and re-establish your credit...Not everyone wants to file, most have to file because of different circumstances in their life. Good Luck!!

  2. Absolutely not!!!

I had no choice (ugly divorce) and was told by several people including my tax consultant and an attorney (not the one I filed with) that because of my circumstances it was my only choice.  Believe me, I didn't want to.  (Although people like David M think we are taking the easy way out)

I'm not proud of my situation and want to do the right thing, as I'm sure you do too!  Don't beat yourself up, learn from your mistake and move forward!!!

  3. Well, it sure doesn't make you a prince.  People or companies will lose money because of your actions. You can redeem yourself and your opinion of yourself after bankruptcy by paying off everyone you owe including interest.

  4. I wouldn't ask us about it. Try asking the people you borrowed thousands of dollars from and stiffed.

  5. Unfortunately, It kind of does.  Bankruptcy, regardless of reason costs companies billions of dollars annually and in a very indirect way these costs are passed down to other consumers in the variables of higher costs, greater interest rates, etc.  If your filing due to some unforseen incident then so be it, do what you have to do and move on.  Try to re-establish and be fiscally responsible in the future.  If your filing because you spent money recklesses, blew money on dumb stuff like tvs, eating out everyday, etc and just lived way beyond your means than I say thanks and don't worry, the rest of society is here to pick up the check.

  6. ~~Of course it does not make you a bad person. Things happen in our lives which we can't control, and we have to make decisions or choices that we may not be happy with, but it is the only choice we have. Obviously, you are a great person, or you wouldn't even feel the need to ask this. Unfortunately, we live in a harsh world right now and the economy has forced many people into this choice, and there will be many more to come. Let' all hope our economy changes and life gets better for us all. You made a choice to survive, and now you get to start anew! I wish you a bright and happy future!~~

  7. Nope ... it should make you feel like a "FREE" person.

Life is about making mistakes ... wipe the slate as clean as the bankruptcy will allow, and then use this opportunity to live like you SHOULD ... pay cash, live within your means ... bankruptcy can be a very liberating experience.  Learn from it, and grow.

  8. Try this site: http://lin.cr/0fk it can make you good money and it is easy to do. There are no fees and it pays out every Friday. It is one of the few work at home websites that has made me good money consistently. It makes me $1200-$2000 a month.
