I know that some of these are a little obscure, but several are close to my heart. okinawa and the Khobar towers happened shortly before I joined the Marine Corps, and the USS Cole was bombed about 60 days before I deployed to Operation southern Watch in Saudi Arabia. As I stated, I was a big nascar fan up until a few years ago, so Dale earnhardt (even though he wasn't a particular favorite of mine) crashing at daytona was a big deal, and after that, a number of improvements were made to the walls, track surface as well as car design. In the passing of Ronald Reagan, we lost possibly one of the greatest presidents this country will ever see (my opinion).
