I need 2 renew my romanian Passaport?

Question

I am planning on traveling to Romania to visit my sick grandmother for 1 month. The problem is that when I called the Secretary Of State.. they said that it takes up to 6 months for me to recive my new Romanian Passaport. I can't wait that long, what if she dies before I get there?? Does this really take 6 months?

Is there any way I can get it earlier?

You may request expedited administrative handling, if available, pre-paying overnight delivery charges each way.  However, some bureaucracies simply move more slowly than others, and are indifferent to the human costs.
